When doers meet doers: The thirst for knowledge brunch.

Sometimes it just happens: a small idea sparks a big fire. That was the case with Clarissa and Catharina Clavey. In less than five weeks, we turned a spontaneous opportunity into an event that brings people together – for business, genuine exchange and innovative ideas.

My heart was pounding from the very first second. The plan? A Start-up Cup with a twist: an event that fires up the business network, stimulates the thirst for knowledge and thinks outside the box.

Images of smiling people exchanging ideas, having fun and learning together – all away from their usual surroundings – were floating around in my head. A brunch that not only fills the stomach, but also the head.
Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? Well, there were four weeks of rollercoaster rides between the idea and its realization. Finding partners, finding speakers, inviting guests. Catering, decorations and then: the weather forecast. Who would have thought that we would ever worship the weather so intensely? Four weeks full of adrenaline, decisions and the constant question: “Will it all work out the way we want it to?”

And you know what? It worked. No, it was even better.

The first Wissensdurst brunch was filled with people who understand the business – but are also open to new ideas. People who want to exchange ideas, who want to get things moving. People who simply go to an event without knowing the host or the company, just because the idea behind it excites them. And because our partners are so fired up that they spread the message.

Our motto? “Just let it happen!” Perfection? Can wait. Because when people come together with their expertise and passion, something magical happens. In just four weeks, we ignited a firework of ideas – and learned that sometimes you just have to get started to create something great.

The Wissensdurst Brunch was a complete success. But more importantly, it was proof that with courage, fun and a willingness to try something new, you can create something really special. And this is just the beginning.
